Crazy Park!

I can't believe that we have lived in Samara for almost 3 years and I still had not taken Josiah to Crazy Park. What a terrible mom. Yesterday Josiah and I met Heather and Bryce so that the two little friends could hang out and have a crazy time. The only thing Josiah wanted to do was play all the games. They have like a big jungle gym kinda thing and he wasn't too crazy about that but he did play in there for 20 minutes. It was actually kinda expensive but I guess we don't do these kinds of things very often so no big deal. Josiah had a blast and that is all he talked about last night. We sure are going to miss all our friends here in Samara and are quite sad to leave but we will be back in 5 weeks and who knows maybe we'll go to Crazy Park again very soon.

A tale of two forks.

So I blogged earlier about Josiahisms and this is another one of his "things". Not too long ago I bought 3 extra forks so that I could have enough forks for team get togethers since our team is now getting quite large. I couldn't find the same pattern as my previous forks so I just bought some real plain ones. But, Josiah won't use the new forks. He doesn't want anything to do with them. Sometimes I forget and set the newer fork on his place setting and he picks it right up and grabs the older one. What a funny boy!

Little helper

Nathan wanted to help wash dishes the other day but all he really wanted was to wear my gloves.

Got milk?

So Nathan now loves playing with his bottles. I think he sprayed himself this day.

Reading Time

One day it was real quiet and I thought, oh great what did the boys get into now. But instead I came to this darling scene of my two boys "reading" books together.

Can Opener

I pretty much try to pinch pennies in every single area that I can. The truth is that at times I can be pretty cheap. I grew up with the idea that if it is broken, lost, or you don't like it........well you just buy another one! So, I always figure why not buy something cheap and then if it breaks I can always buy another one. My handheld can openers have been a testament of my philosophy on shopping. I have owned 2 very cheap can openers since we have been here. They have both been a pain to operate and both have broken.

My husband on the other hand has a different shopping philosophy. After much research and finding the best price for an item you buy the item that is the best for your money, even if you have to pay a bit more because it is quality that counts. The item won't break on you and so you won't have to keep buying more. Basically you get what you paid for , right?

So, after the last can opener broke and I felt like chucking the can of corn out the window because I was frustrated, I went out and bought an $11 hand held can opener. It is a "Facklemann", from Germany. I didn't want to buy it because I try so hard not to spend our money when I know that in the States I could get a great can opener for less but I did it.

In conclusion, I absolutely love it. It opens cans flawlessly and without much work. It is a pleasure for me to now open cans. It is also much prettier that the last two can openers.

Josiahisms

Josiah can be a bit "particular" about some things. Kinda like his daddy. They both fold their napkins the same way, they have a "special" place for certain belongings, they like order, and a bunch of little other things that I have to laugh at. I guess Josiah is just doing what every little boy does..........look up to their daddy and do everything daddy does. On this day I had bought Josiah Spiderman tights which he loved. He had also found an ad on the back of one of his Bob the Builder books for a Bob the Builder game for his Gameboy. And he was being quite possessive about his Gameboy. So he decided to carry all 3 items around all day long. At this point he had set his possessions on the kitchen counter so he could eat lunch. I couldn't resist and I took a picture. There are many more Josiahisms and so I will blog about them later. Maybe I should do some Jonisms too but I don't think he would enjoy that too much.

Augh, I got tagged.

So, I got tagged by my favorite sister-in-law.......ha ha ha, she's the only one I have! I do love you Cori. Anyway, I will do it but I won't tag on........SORRY!

SHARE 7 RANDOM/WEIRD FACTS ABOUT YOURSELF:

1. I hate feet. I loathe them too Cori. They totally disgust me. I won't even get a pedicure because it grosses me out that the instruments have been used on other people's feet. On the other hand, Josiah and Nathan's feet don't bother me........yet.

2. I always smile at myself in the mirror after I brush my teeth.

3. I can't fall asleep unless I put lotion on my hands and Carmex on my lips.

4. I really don't like the newborn stage. I think at about 6 months I really begin to enjoy babies.

5. I am a little germ-a-phobic. There are a lot of measures I take in public restrooms. I am also fanatic about washing my hands when we come back in from being outside.

6. Sometimes when I cook or bake, I pretend that I am hosting a cooking show.

7. In the evening I have to eat some sort of fruity candy.

Oh my, what big teeth you have!

Once Nathan got a hold of Josiah's teeth with candy at the end, he wouldn't let it go.
