Vacation Bible School in Sunriver, Oregon

One of our supporting churches is Community Bible Church of Sunriver in Oregon.  We visited Sunriver two years ago and Josiah attended their vacation Bible school.  They do an incredible job of putting on an amazing program for the kids.  This year, Josiah and Nathan were able to attend and we actually planned our visit around the VBS.  The boys had a blast.  We are so grateful for those who served the boys during VBS.

Jojo was on the green team.

Nay-nay was on the orange team.

The boys did lots of crafts, played lots of fun games, learned new
songs, and they were taught some major theology!  At the end of
the week they put on a program.............

and after the program there is a real fun
carnival with lots of games and food.

Road Trip!

On our way up to Sunriver, we stopped off at the Union Creek
Gorge.  This beautiful gorge was formed by lava from a nearby
volcano.  It was really breathtaking.

Days 197 - 203

DAY 203
Computer shopping for me!  My laptop in Russia
is about to die.  Hoping we can find a good deal!

DAY 202
My wonderful dentist.  In all honesty the short time we were in
California one of us was in the dentist's office every single day!

DAY 201
Our letters of invitations to apply for our private
visas so that we can return to Samara and then get
to work right away on our 3 year residency visas.

DAY 200
Our return trip back to California via Southwest.  We were actually
really impressed with their service.

DAY 199
Church picnic in Iowa and Jojo hopping away!

DAY 198
This is my mother-in-law's Pooh bear collection.  The real old one
is actually Jay's (Jon's brother) Pooh Bear from when he was little.

DAY 197
#11 retired Nascar car.  I can't remember the name of the driver!!!
One sign that we are totally out of the loop on stuff because we
live in Russia:  Toyota Camrys now race in Nascar!  I guess they
started 3 years ago!

The Pillow

At the Yogi Bear campsite there was a huge jumping pillow.  I have never even seen one before and just let me tell you that the whole family had a blast jumping on this thing.  Nay-nay especially enjoyed it.

An Apple Conversation

One day during our trip in Sunriver, Jojo blurted out that when he grows up he was going to work on his Apple computer all day just like daddy.

Then Nathan said the following:
"When I grow up I want applesauce"

Yogi Bear

Nathan and Yogi Bear!
Nathan and Yogi Bear again.

Nathan posing like Yogi Bear!

The camping spot we went to during our time in Iowa was called
Yogi Bear and was extremely family friendly.  The boys really
had a great time.  Jojo wasn't a fan of Yogi Bear but Nay-nay liked
him!

Catching Up!

Unfortunately internet access has been awful for us.  Many times Jon has to go somewhere just to get some work done.  The few times I have been able to get on has been to check e-mail or update Facebook.  We are currently at our church's missionary conference and yay we have high speed internet in the rooms.  I have some time to catch up because poor little Nay- nay woke up vomiting this morning...........no fun! Today was a big field trip day for the little ones and he has to miss it.  It is also "date day" where the married couples can focus on spending time with one another..........oh well............I guess we'll be spending time with one another while we nurse Nay-nay back to health.  One plus is that I will get caught up on blogging, reading the Word, and spending time in prayer.  Obviously it was God's plan for my day.  One of my disciplers taught me to pray for the expected and "unexpected" events of every day and so even though Nathan getting sick is unexpected for me it is no mystery for God.
