Since Jon is gone away at Shepherd's Conference I thought I would do a short series on our first few months in Samara. If you've read my blog (all 3 of you) then you'll remember that last year I did a series on Novosibirsk - our first ministry. Unfortunately things didn't end so well there and we returned to the States, left the small church that sent us out, and returned to Grace Community Church. My husband didn't want anything to do with living overseas ever again, he especially didn't want to return to Russia! Well we all know that the Lord always has different plans and after a few months of trying to figure what we would do next Jon was approached by a pastor and friend to consider helping out in Samara on a temporary basis with the hopes of making it permanent.................and we had a few days to make the decision and 1 month to move!
It was really a no-brainer and like writing on the wall. So, we spent the last month packing, saying good-bye again to friends and family, and taking care of a bunch of last minute details.

Spending our last Christmas together as a family!
Of course we had to go see our buddy one last time!
Celebrating January birthdays(Jon and my nephew's) early.
And of course getting the picture for our prayer cards ready.

Natalie,
I'm glad for the review. Even though we were part of your lives at that point, the events blur. I love how you point out here that the plan we create and where the Lord takes us are often so different!
We love you and miss you!
