Ancient Corinth

One of the most amazing facts about Corinth is that only 5% of this ruin has been excavated! Paul lived here for 18 months working as a tent maker but also faithfully preaching in the synagogue. Corinth was a land of great prosperity mainly because it was a center with a lot of international trade. It is located on a 3 mile isthmus of land separating the Aegean and Adriatic Seas.

You can't quite make it out but on the very top of this hill is
Corinth's acropolis. The temple prostitutes descended from
the acropolis every evening to find "customers" in the agora.

The main path in the agora (town square).

The Temple of Apollo

The Temple of Octavia. These 3 Corinthian columns are all that remain of a temple that was dedicated to the sister of the Emperor Augustus, Octavia.
