Forneris Farms

In our ongoing efforts to get out on Saturdays, we headed to Forneris Farms the weekend before Halloween so that daddy could enjoy a pumpkin patch too. Forneris Farms is located right across the street from where I used to work. They have amazing produce and probably the best ever strawberries! I love that they're local and have been around for over 40 years.

The last time we were here, Jojo was 2 years old...........

and now he's 10 years old..........

The ladies at the grocery stores were right.........time flies!

It was another gorgeous day! Actually it was quite warm.....I still can't believe it was the end of October and we were so hot!!

We basically just went to take pictures and hang out but Jon and the boys did go on the train because I had promised the boys. I guess they have an amazing corn maze. I'm thinking next year Jon and I will have to go out on a date and try out the maze!!

Project 365

I thoroughly enjoyed doing project 365!  It was quite a challenge having to take a picture every single day.  I have to confess that I still find myself scrambling for my camera to take my picture of the day and then realize that I'm not doing the project any longer.  And in all honesty it is sort of a relief that it is over.  I think out of the 365 days I forgot to take a picture once or twice.  A handful of times the pictures were taken by my husband and I chose to use those simply because his picture was more interesting than mine!

So what will I do this year?  My sister and I have actually started a blog.  You can check it out over here.  The idea is pretty basic.  Each week we pick a theme and we take a picture according to our own interpretation.  We don't tell each other what we are going to photograph so it is kind of fun seeing what my sister has photographed.  We named our blog "From the Valley to the Volga".  She's living in the San Fernando valley and I'm in Samara,Russia which sits on the Volga River.

The Final Days: Days 364 and 365

 

Day 365  The last day of my project and New Years Day!

 

Day 364 New Years Eve and fireworks galore.

Day 363  Alisha's birthday cake.  The party theme was winter bunny.

When I told Jojo what the theme was, he said "Not another bunny

party!".  Alisha had a bunny party last year.

 

Day 362  Our tree is still up!  We will keep it up until the Russian Christmas.

Day 337 - Sheets of ice.  Our sidewalks are like ice skating rinks right.  I took this picture as I was waiting for transport to go to the local market.  When I returned home I noticed a little old man with a cane just standing by a similar sidewalk.  I felt horrible for him because I knew he didn't know what to do.  So, I asked him if I could help him home.  As we walked home he proceeded to show me his prosthetic leg, he talked to me about things I couldn't understand, and I was able to smell the alcohol on his breath.  He lived a little further than I thought but I was just relieved to get him home safely in one piece.
