On February 26 Jon was able to go to California for the annual Shepherd's conference. He really had a great time but was busy as always. He arrived on the evening of the 26th and the very next day went to the Getty Villa with several of our Russian friends who also had the opportunity to go to the conference.
Here are some men enjoying John MacArthurs's office! This is always a highlight for visitors.
Then of course there were a lot of meetings to attend to before the conference began. Jon also had some extra time to do some shopping for me. People are always curious and I get asked a lot as to what kind of things we bring over from the States so here's a list of what he brought back:
- brown sugar
- chocolate chips
- magazines for me to read
- Josiah's curriculum for 1st grade
- pecans
- a box of See's candies for me
- a bag of Tootsie rolls for him
- Fruit by the Foot for the boys
- toys for the boys
- medication
- barbecue sauce
- cooking spray
- Carmex
- special cream for Nathan's eczema
Anyway, that gives you an idea of some of the things that we can't buy here in Russia. I am sure there was a lot more that he brought over but I may be forgetting some things!
